Which 6" lift to buy????
I was selling my truck, but now im considering keeping it. If I do, Im going to lift it 6". I was wanting to get an input on which brand of lift to get. I went to topgun customz and they had quite a bit to choose from.. here was the two I was looking at
6" 08-10 Ford Super Duty F250/F350 Stage I Lift Kit w/ ES9000 Shocks - Diesel Engines Only @Top Gun Customz 6" 08-09 Ford Super Duty F250/F350 Lift Kit - Diesel - Includes Bilstein 5100 Shocks @Top Gun Customz With these kits, does it come with everything I need? or will I need to buy more then what the kit comes with? or is there another brand that would be better...I dont have alot of money to spend. I am just looking for a good cheap lift kit. Nothing fancy. Thanks! |

They should do you fine, they are basic lifts. But money comes into play too. I personally liked the pure performance one, it gets rid of the radius arms for a four link set up. Overall better than factory.

Best riding kit for the '05 up will be a 4 link replacement. Pure Performance's kits come stock with 4 link arms and we are sell lots of them very reasonable priced...We also have Icon, RCD and Rize.

I have the ProComp one that you listed. It's been a great kit for the price. It's the second one I've had on a 6.4. I had another of the same kit on my 08. But.......the shocks are cheap pieces of crap. I've been wanting to upgrade to the bilsteins and just haven't done it yet. If you are wanting to go cheap, then I think either one of these kits will do it. The rough country actually caught my eye, being cheaper and coming with the bilsteins. There are a lot better kits out there for a lot more money, but no matter what you put on these trucks, it's still going to ride like a 3/4 or 1 ton. As far as quality parts, the Pro Comp has quality parts. It's not like they are going to fall apart because they are cheaper. It just may not ride as good.

I agree with you that coil overs will ride better. I'm not trying to argue that. The OP stated that he doesn't have a lot of money to spend. I was in the same boat. I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on my lift. You do get what you pay for. But my truck definitely doesn't ride any worse than stock, therefore I am very happy with what I payed for. I was simply just trying to make the point that the lifts he listed should work great for the price and what he wants. A 4 link or traction bars or coil overs would definitely be better for comfort among other things, but not everyone has $1000's to spend on a lift. Just my .02.

Yeah, I dont have that much money to spend. All 6" lifts look the same, so why pay more money. I think Im going to go with the tuff country. It might not ride as good as the others, but I didnt buy a caddy. Thanks for all the suggestions guys!

I went with an Icon 7" and couldn't be happier. I too have had piece of crap lifts and it is not woth saving a few bucks for a cheap lift. Tuff Country on my 03 had my truck wandering all over the road. As soon as I upgraded to an Icon w/ Billesteins I will never go back to a cheap lift. My .02 cents

I was just saying that coil overs ride great. I know he doesn't have a lot to blow on a lift, just commenting on your post
