Trying to decide what my next set up will be. I've pretty much decided I want the black/machined BMF SOTAs and I just want to get a feeling of the amount of tire on these set-ups and how it looks.
Yep they are 37x13.5 22's I agree that the tires need to be a tad bigger. If he went with a narrower tire he could have gone bigger but the 37x13.5 already rub a tad at full lock
This coming from the guy with the 24s... Haha.... If I were you I'd go with 20's. Reason being, if it's that close of a call for you, then you might as well save the money. I know the price jump is a pretty good chunk.... Which is why I got 20s w/37s. Just don't get the 9'' wide wheels like I did.
haha yea yea. I looked at the 2011 and thought it had 24's.
It's just confusing though because some setups look like too much tire for my liking with 20s and then some look perfect. Then some with 22's look perfect and some have too little.
How do you think the black rims will look with the two tone? I have the same color scheme and cannot decide between black and chrome rims. I am also looking at BMF 20's with 37's.
Honestly I'm not really sure, my plan was to get them and if it looked like crap i was gonna have the kevlar linex sprayed on the 2 tone to black out the truck.
I think the width of the wheel plays a roll in how the tire looks also. Most 22" and 24" wheels are 11"+ in width to were most of the 20" wheels are 9" or 10" in width. With the narrower wheel the tire bubbles more. This is why I prefer 22's with 37's. If you compare the photos posted you'll see all the 37" tires on 22's have a flat side wall where the 37's on 20's have the bubble side wall.
This is why I like the look of big rims. I like the way RC trucks look.

The Nitto Trail Grappler is a 20x12.5x37 therefore the tire is an inch narrower. A 20x10 wheel with a 12.5" tire will look the same as a 22x11 with a 13.5" tire. Even comparing a 20x10 to a 22x10 and both having a 37x13.5 tire the 20" wheel will have a taller side wall giving more room for squash.( this is what gives a softer ride)
