Roof clearance lights
OK, so my 08 F350 didn't come with roof lights. My question to you guys is, is it possible to install them and make them work/look as good as factory? If so, how involved is this and what should it cost? I'm not someone who can do this myself so my next question will be finding someone in the Las Vegas area to make it happen. Thank you.

yes it is possible and i installed mine. its just time consuming and getting over the fear of drilling in your own truck thats not reversible. but mines a 99. theres some here thats done it to the 08 model.

See this link:
Motoman's Madness It shows how to do it on an older pick up, but the cab body on an '08 should be very close to this. It, at least, gives you an idea of what's involved in doing the job. Look here for Recon's Cab light set up. They show the kit for '99-'11 trucks. Look at the kits that are the complete kits (mid-page) Recon Accessories: Ford 99-11 Cab Roof Lights And L.E.D Bulbs Hope it helps some. |

i would go with the Recon kit... its not hard to install just make sure you measure a lot before you drill.... we also carry Recon kits and can offer you free shipping

Thanks guys. Very helpful. Looks like the labor will be the critical part. Again, its beyond what I can/want to do.

I put mine on my 08. Drive it up to Salt Lake and I'll help you do it. Save you about $300 to $500 in labor. I paid under $100 for the lights and harness. I did Ford OEM parts and plugged it right into the factory harness, I just read too many bad things about Recon's quality, like leaks and wind noise.

i don't mean to derail the thread but I've always been kinda curious what those lights are really for. it might be a stupid question but i've asked a few freinds and they all seem to give me kinda dumb answers and none of them sound right. anyone wanna shed any light on this for me?? (pun intended!)
