Painted Side Mirror Caps

I am wanting to put the white caps on my mirrors. I know you can buy the cap primed from ford but will the cap come off mine?? I heard they were different mirrors but I find that hard to believe. What options are there?? Thanks

I had chrome covers on mine just swapped them for painted ones the rumor is if you dont have a KR,FX4,HD or Lariat with chrome or painted covers to begin with they dont come off the mirror is one piece! You can look right above your main mirror and see if you see some clips holding the cover in place it will be two if they are there.

the chrome/painted caps DO come off... the textured black plastic mirrors are one piece that dont have caps at all. If you have the one piece mirror you will have to paint the upper part of the mirror or replace them with the mirrors with removable caps.

I bought some primed caps and paid like $30 each none come painted anymore like they used to either primed or chrome.
