what do I need to clear 35s on offset wheels, will 33s clear stock
So, I recently purchased my new 2010 250 fx4 and I love it except these tires have got to go. I'm not a fan of big lifts, but I do need some better offroad traction. My old truck was a '04 f150 on 34" terra grapplers with a 2.5" lift kit and that was perfect.
I will not run stock wheels, I will run the proper wheels for the tires with like a 4-5" offset, like some procomps. Will 33" tires on the offset wheels clear stock, what would I have to do to clear 35s? Thanks |

33's are the tire that 18" wheel come stock(275/70) with so you''ll be fine there, but most run a 2.5" leveling kit and with the right offset you'll clear 35"s without rubbing.

so, yesterday my neighbor parked his dads '09 xlt 4x4 next to mine and I noticed that mine has a factory leveling kit. is that factory FX4 kit enough to clear 35s? I see guys all day long clearing 37s on 2.5 leveling kits.
Thanks |

you dont need any lift to fit 35"s at all i would get a set of 35" 13.50s if i was you .. you can even run 37"s on a stock fx4

that is what I suspected. My plan was to run either toyo mudds or nitto trail grapplers in a 35x12.5 on some procomp 17" wheels with the 4-5" backspace. I hate the look of stock 7.5" wide wheels with a 12.5" wide tire squeezed on, plus I think the back space gives a more agressive stance and offers more clearance for the frame and wheel wells. If I would need a 2" level kit just to get 35s to fit, then I might as well get 37s, but if I can clear 35s just fine without having to modify my suspension, that is like a win-win. |
