Just pulled the trigger on Icon 2.5" kit
I just ordered the Icon 2.5" Leveling kit for my 2008 F-250 today. I want to make sure I have covered everything. Let me know if I missed something.
The Icon 2.5" leveling system Adjustable Trac bar 5" rear blocks 17" U-bolts carrier bearing shims I think that is everything. Please feel free to chime in if I missed something. I ordered the 5" rear blocks as I wanted the rear of truck just a touch higher. I did some research and I saw some people raise the issue about front castor when running larger blocks in the rear. I figured since the Icon kit adresses the castor issue with shims I should be ok. We will see, this is new territory for me. Thx, AMW |

KLM Performance - Suspension Systems and Truck Upgrades I am in NJ. This gentleman is about one and one half hour north. Walked me through everything. Was great with the follow up, should be here by Friday. |

congrats and with a 4" block you will be 1/2 higher in the rear on a 2.5" front. i am running a 5.5" rear block ( When it gets here... long story) with a 4.5" icon lift and will be level or 1/4" higher. So a 5" with a 2.5" leveling kit it will be like factory rake of an 350.

The Icon kit will come with the castor shims..just change your stock ones out to get back to factory specs. You may want to get a dual steering stablizer kit.

My truck needed shims. It had a pretty noticeable shimmy on takeoff. Hopefully your situation will be different. You will NOT be disappointed with the quality of the kit. Easy to install, and the truck rides like a Caddy now. PM me with any questions you have. Make sure you have a good pry bar, and a good brass drift to get the castor shims out. Also, make sure you put some rust penetrator on everything.

Thank you for the responses gentleman I appreciate it. I read that I may need the carrier bearing shims but everyone said I would not. I guess we will find out.
I am looking for ward to it and I will photo up the before and afters. I am driving myself nuts now with the tire selection, OMG the more I search and read the more frustrated I get. I may just flip a coin. AMW |

I am going to get the kit in first then take a look at tires. I am unsure whether I should go with an M/T or A/T. I may go M/T 295/65/20 Nitto Trail Grappler. Seems to be the appropriate size given the stock 20" wheel width. Last edited by Awadd09; 07-15-2010 at 04:23 PM. |
