how hard is a chrome package trade

my buddy just bought an 08 f450 with chrome package, he wants to trade the grill and chrome mirror covers for my black ones. how do they come off?

the grill should just unbolt pretty easy, not sure how the mirror caps on put on.

The grille is a couple of plastic rivets and plastic tabs, the mirror caps Im pretty sure have a couple of taps behind the mirror that you have to pop out

The grill I'll be able to figure out, I just don't know how to take the mirror covers off

Are your mirror caps textured black or painted? If you have textured black mirror tops, I don't think you can remove them. I think the only way you can is if you have the painted ones. I think this is what someone said a while back, the textured ones are a solid piece, but the painted ones from the KRs and the FX4s are different.

If the mirrors are chrome then yes they are removable. Tilt the mirror glass all the way down, you'll see the tabs that hold the cap in place. Pretty straight forward. The painted caps only come primed from the factory so you'll need to get them painted.

I have the regular molded tow mirrors, I'll let my buddy know and he can paint them I guess. I'm still going to swap grills then. Thanks for the info
