Tailgate Lip
Hey guys, I'm thinking about doing an '08 tailgate (w/o step) on my Harley. I have a fiberglass tonneau, and it won't work with the lip on the '08 tailgate. I'm wondering if I can just pull off the tailgate cap and replace it with my old one. Any ideas if this will work or not?

I kinda don't think so.
I think I had seen on without the Tailgate Trim and it looks like the Top Edge is Wider than an older style. Maybe you could trim the tailgate metal, then recover it with the older trim? |

The tailgate lip is completely different on an 08.. sorry to say, and when you remove the black plastic cap it leaves 2 nice square holes on the backend of the tailgate... Just check out some of the pics on my thread about it.. Still needing to get that fixed.. on the to do list of things when I come home from the sandbox...
