Roof Clearance Lights.
Since I am going to be installing a CB radio shortly on my truck. I figured I'd kill 2 birds with one stone and install some clearance lights. But I came to realize I had a problem. I want 6 lights not 5 like the OEM ones to match the ribs on the roof. So I purchased 6 clearance lights, 1x2" bases on them.
None the less, I am debating on placement of them on my F-250, I am thinking that on the ends of the ribs near the front of the roof would be neat (6 ribs hence my original thought for 6 lights). Or maybe moving them out closer to the windshield but inline with the roof ribs. Thoughts? Dimitri |

hmmmm 6 might be pretty cool. I think moving them closer to the windshield but inline with the ribs would look better, but that's just my opinion.

Yah, that is what I am thinking, disassembled the light's mounts and am spray painting them Forest Green. Cause the mount itself (the base piece) was white.
I also bought a complete set of wire and connectors to make my own harness. Dimitri |

Sounds like a nice "CUSTOM" project. You should take some pics and do a write up on it. I am VERY interested to see what you end up doing and how you wire it all. I have been wanting to add roof lights to my truck as well but haven't decided whether to or not.

sounds like a cool project, I'd be to scared to cut into my roof.

I'm cutting my roof up for my CB radio I got to install, so I figured since I am going to drop the head liner anyways I may as well do the lights too.
None the less I am worried too, that is why my Godfather is going to help me do it. Dimitri |

Here's a link you could look at. Yes, it shows the standard 5 light install, but you could get the measurements as far as how far back from the windsheild and may be the outer lights. Then you could even distribute the other 4 in-between. Just a thought.

That is a good site, found it when looking for how to remove the headliner so I can install a CB. From there I decided to install clearance lights as well.
None the less decided on 8.5" spacing rounded from the 52 inches he gives for the OEM install. I finished assembling the harness, I made it to 12" centers. giving me almost 4 inches of play on the line per light. Which shouldn't be needed but may help. Dimitri |
