Can you paint tailgate and door handles?

So I just got my emblem overlays from Eric eide, thanks again man! And now i'm digging the "white out" look, my truck is white and the overlays are white with black ford letters, but I want to paint my door handles and tailgate handle white, Whats the cheapest way to do this? Next is white fx4 grille or painted white grille. modding is addicting, and i havent even done any performance mods yet.

Are the handles smooth or textured? I have heard some have sanded their textured handles smooth, used an adhesion promoter and sprayed them.

I have also heard of people buying Excursion handles. Some of them came color-matched. That would take of the doors, but not the tailgate.

Just some suggestions....

Textured plastic, I have the xl edition ones if it matters, just wondering if paint will stick to them, or if anyone has any old door handles, and any posts are cool just looking for ideas

My FX4 has color matched door handles - Check around - You might be able to find some off and FX4.

Dude soooo simple... goto a pep boys or advanced auto... they have a plastic spray paint... requires NO SANDING and NO primer!... its for trim and textured plastic pieces... they have tons of colors... I have painted several football helmets this way and if it can NOT chip or wear from the impacts of helmets im pretty sure your door handles will be just fine. Reference: i have played semi pro football since 01, painted 2-3 helmets myself with this paint... *used more then 1 year* helmets show scuffs and paint from other helmets but the basecoat I sprayed still looks the way it did when I sprayed it... also if you want them gloss... by the clearcoat made by the same company and your golden

so i got paint and primer, now how do i get the door handles and tailgate handle off? I ripped the door panel off but to no avail, it's probably something simple so anybody chime in!
