Lift kits are insanely exspensive.. Not to mention you basically gotta buy new rims and tires at the same time. If my damn truck payment was 920 bucks a month id have some mroe spare money to throw at this thing!

IMO, the best 8" lift for a 08-09 SD would be an Icon/OUO Hybrid.

Front:
Icon 7" Radius Arm Drop System
Icon 1" TEI Spacer
Icon Adj. Trac Bar
OUO Adjustable Link Arms
OUO 2.5" diameter shocks

Rear:
OUO Traction blocks
OUO 2.5" diameter shocks

If I was building a 8" 08-09 for myself that would be the route I would go....except for adding the Icon Coilover hoop for the front and either Icon or OUO 2.5 Coilovers up front and ditching the coil springs

No, I would not run a 4-link.

So these OUO blocks that people keep raving about??? I have the Icon DR plushride 8" springs in the rear with Icon shocks, and F350 blocks...and my truck still rides pretty stiff... Would these blocks help to get rid of that stiffness??? Keep in mind that the roads in Minnesota go through hell and back every year

The minimum block size for the OUO traction blocks is 4". Not sure if that works with what you currently have. F350 blocks are what? 3.5"? Can't remember.

The reason most of us have such a smooth ride is because we kept our stock 08-up rear springs which ride really well. The blocks allow for the lift and control of the longer spring, at the same time.
