Mirrow will not unfold

I have a 08 f-250 with power mirrors at the car wash a couple of weeks ago they pulled my right side mirror out bu hand it was working alright untail yesterday and now it will fold in but not out took it to the dealer to get it reset on the motor. They could not get it to reset and stay said it will need to be replaced for $750.00 has any one took one apart and looked inside or repaired one this couldn't be the first one to be this way.

You're supposed to be able to do it by hand. Shouldn't hurt anything. I do mine manually when washing it all the time. If its not working, and still under warranty, they should fix it with no charge because something else is wrong that has nothing to do with manual folding. As long as they are both in the same position, there shouldn't be an issue. Just don't have one out, and one in, and then try to hit the button. Things might get weird. I dunno.

No warranty left 106000 miles Ford said the something would not stay engaged to pull the window out you can reset it by folding both window in with the switch and taking the one that is out of time all the way to the front windshield and back to the center position and then hitting the switch and letting the other mirror come out. I did that 20 times before I went to ford (I have friend who works in the service dept.). So be careful they cost around 750.00 each is what the parts dept said I am looking on line to try to find a used one If I can't figure out how to fix this one. Be careful at the car wash that is how mine got broke

Might want to Check with Green Leaf Auto. I screwed up my drivers mirror not long after I got my truck, I couldn't believe what they cost from the dealer. Someone on the forum told me about this place and I bought a one from them color matched for 250. I would givem them a call, don't know if they will have in any, but they are worth a shot. Good Luck!

What did you end up doing about your mirror, I am having the same issue, exept when i hit the switch, the mirror folds all the way to the hood of the truck and does not stop where it should?

Well rear is what I final wound up doing the mirror is out of time with the gear and motor fold the mirror in with the power switch if it does not fold to the door push it in manuely. Take the mirror and pull it around all the way back to the hood and then back to the center position and then hit the switch to open the mirror this should reset every thing back into time. I had to do mine several different times to get it right and when I gave up it somehow started working right again. Hope it works you sure don't want to by one and I was never able to find a use one ether. One more thing you will here some popping sounds when you move the mirror and should feel it lock in to the center position. Also I have learned to fold my mirrors in every time I park in a parking lot to keep some jerk from moving them out of there way.

Sounds to me, ya'll got one hell of a problem on ya'lls hands. Mine did the same thing, just mess with it a while and it will eventually start working again. At least mine did.... Be sure to talk nice to it and hold your mouth right.....
