'09 Navigation in Lariat

Hey guys, I have done some searching and I cant get an exact answer for what im looking for. I am trying to swap out my 6 Disc cd changer for the factory navigation unit. My truck DOES have sync built in with the premium sound system as well. What will I need in order to do this? Or is it even possible/worth doing?

Thanks!!

I have been wanting to do this on my 2010. It has sync and all that jazz but from what I have found it's just a hassle.

Really? That's kind of what I have heard. I just don't want to give up my sync features and the steering controls by going aftermarket. I also like the look of the factory nav. If its not a "DIY" kind of project, then I might just bag it.

I think since you already have sync it should be plug and play , maybe add a sirius antenna, get ahold of 4dtech they sell all the stuff but you can get the head unit a lot cheaper on eBay .

I just bought. 2014 nav to put in sync in my nav equipped. 08, now that going to be a job!

I would be careful buying units off Ebay. While most are good fully functional units, they may not be programmed correctly for your truck. Worse, there have been a lot of units on Ebay lately that are not only programmed incorrectly, they have the wrong LED button back lighting for these trucks. The bigger issue is though that many of the individuals selling these radios have little to no experience with these radios and absolutely no experience actually installing them.

I know it is more costly to buy from a reputable store\dealer but I personally think it makes sense to buy from a reputable store\dealer. When you consider the risks involved with purchasing a unit on Ebay vs. the guarantee of plug-n-play compatibility and support for the install, it seems like a pretty good value to me. Further, I think 4D Tech is the only place selling a kit to upgrade the '08 Superduty.
