Electrical Issue. Help please

When I turn on my right turn signal or hit my brake pedal my dash has a warning sign that pops up that says 'wiring fault on trailer'. I do not have a trailer hooked up either. Also my reverse sensors will not turn on. Any idea what this problem is? Thanks for the help. The beeping every time the warning sign pops up is annoying.

I had the same reverse sensor problem, it turned out one of the sensors had died.

Driving home from the dealership after getting the reverse sensors fixed I got that trailer wiring message as well. Systems Check indicated a TBC fault, but the message cleared itself and a week later the Systems Check said everything was fine.

Dunno how you test the reverse sensors though, sorry.

I've had that problem. It was the seven way plug was full of mud and shorting the plug out. I took it to the car wash and sprayed it out. Also check the wires from the back of the plug. I've seen where people drug their hitch when they where out in the woods and smashed the wires.

I will definitely check that out. We had a lot of snow here last week so snow and salt may have get in there.

I agree with cleaning it out. My cover broke that protected the plug and everytime it rained, the message would pop up. I ended up getting a new plug and now everything is fine.

The plug I have now is only about six months old, if that. I haven't cleaned it out yet, but did hook it up to both of my trailers. Everything worked fine on the truck and trailer when hooked up, but as soon as I unhooked the trailers it started acting up again. I did look in the plug and it looked clean but I guess I still need to clean it.

A quick and easy test would be just unplug the seven way from the truck and try it. If it works then you have a bad seven way. There should be a connector under the truck where it plugs into the main harness.
