Remote start

I have an 09 F350

Are there any remote starts (don't want a security system) that are relatively plug and play that would have a phone app option?

From my searching on here it seems the factory ford one is pretty plug and play and the Viper offerings have the SmartStart option but I'd like to be able to install myself without a headache.

It also appears most people go with a security system but as I mentioned I only want the remote start so that made my searching a little more difficult....

Just installed a factory ford remote start and it is great. After talking to the parts department the one for our year is more of a dumb down one. The install was not to bad and no need to program at the dealer also.

The factory was around $400 I think. Reason for I think is the main remote start was $350 and parts guy messed up and did not sell me the modual for the security key so he gave me a deal on that. You can mount a spare key behind council cover which I did before the key modual came in and it did not work that great. The directions were not that hard to understand.

Hey red 314 - what year is your truck? Sounds like it was pretty plug and play? Can you elaborate on the setup a little - I assume there is no cell phone interface? 2 key fobs now or do they integrate the door unlock into the new fob with the remote start on it?

I definitely want that - my truck is either in my driveway or at my office 99% of the time so I am not too worried about it getting hacked and stolen and if it does, I'll call the insurance company and take the proceeds and go buy an 650
