New Stereo What kind should I get?

I have the stock crappy stereo, single CD, audio in jack and I'm not happy with it.

So I need to get a new stereo. I'm not changing speakers, or adding subs or anything like that, I'm the opposite of an audiophile.

I listen to country, classic rock, sports, news radio and talk radio (mostly news and talk radio). Damn, I sound like an old man.

My requirements are a multi CD changer, a USB jack, an audio in jack (for kids iPod)...after that it is gravey. I'm thinking less then $200 bucks should get me a decent stereo??? But I don't have a clue. I am a technical geek, so techy stuff gets me all the time, GPS does not interest me I have no need for it.

I would love this in a form that would take up half the hole and use the other half for a little storage box to put crap like sunglasses etc.

Does anyone have any stereo suggestions?

OK, I'm thinking the price point is about $500, based on some simple research. Any suggestions +/- $100 or so on this?

well being that your not looking to change speakers or anything like that and dont want GPS i would say go to like circuit city or best buy and look around. they carry a lot of the most poppular companies such as eclipse, alpine, pioneer, jbl, etc. and you can deffinetly get one with the usb jack and audio input. however if you want a single din, which is what you described being that it would only take up half the space and the other half would be a storage compartment, im not sure if you can get a single din that is multi cd changer. but check around because at those stores you could get one that would fit you for about $250

I put in a Kenwood DDX-7019.

It can be upgraded later with Nav, Weather, Traffic, Sat radios, blue tooth phone, HD radio tuner, TV tuner, backup camera, etc, etc, so the expense is starting in your price range.

Full IPOD support.

Supports disc changer but has a single DVD/CD.

I use a memory stick card reader most of the time, and XM and Sirius, and my phone.

Has audio in but the IPOD has it's own port (ipod adapter option required). Control it with the Head unit. Video IPOD as well. Keep the IPOD in the glove box.

Also see DDX-8019.
