stock stereo distortion

I have the 6 disc stereo with the extra speakers on the door, and I get a distortion or something when listening to the radio. It happens with any station I listen to,I drive right by a local station and the stereo signal symbol does not flash and things sound garbled.

I have had it to the dealer twice, first time they changed the radio, no diff. then they checked all the wires and ohm tested the antenna and said all was fine.

They called the hotline and said it was because I have a cb radio and my cell phone cause interferance!!!

They changed the radio out before I even put in the cb. Is there a seperate amp in line before the speakers?

Maybe one speaker is bad?

any thoughts?

I have no clue if this works in the 2008...

but if your stereo is the same as the 05-07 style, you can do a self test by holding down the preset buttons 3 and 6 or 6 and menu (been awhile).

It will test the internal functions/amp and speaker connections.
