I'd be curious to know the answer as well.

Sounds like they are just trying to sell you a 13. Unless your 10W3's were in a terrible box, a single 13TW5 will not compare to them. It will sound great but no where near the output as the 2 10W3's. (assuming both set ups are in their proper boxes)

I guess in the 04 the subs were jammed up against the back of the seat pretty hard and the rear carpeted panel was removed?

Does your 08 have the rear power slider?

Yes, and they mounted my amps under the rear seat. removed that tray system. The 2-10's in my old truck sounded great. They did a great job on the box also.
I myself was the one pushing the 1 sub idea. I think i am just leary of the new JL design on these subs. Would you say 1-13" thinline would be comparable to 1-10" w3? I really liked the 2-10's cause they could play all kinds of music well and if you wanted to pump up the bass they could.

Yes. The single 13 would be a little better than 1 10W3 but not quite equal to 2 10W3's.

If you listen to more rock music than anything else, I would consider the Pioneer shallow 12 in a ported box. It will be louder than the JL 13 but some lower bass will be lost. (rock music doesnt have that much)

Thanks for your input. I may be contacting you about purchasing one of your boxes.

2x 8" w3's...

Can you please keep us posted on how the install turns out. I'm interested in the same setup, what amp is driving the two 8's and what box are they using? Need to get some more bass in my crew cab... Thanks.
