Those with the Pioneer Avic D3...

I have a question for you. Does the volume knob (I assume that is what the large knob to the left of the unit is) obstruct your ability to see the video screen completely? I'm interested in a similar Kenwood unit and was wondering since the two units seem to have a very similar knob on them. Seems to me they'd have given this a bit of thought during R&D but the fact of the matter is, it's possible that they did. Gimme your collective thoughts.

It in no way or form gets in the way of viewing.
BUT if you are in need of superior navigation functions I would def go with kenwood.
They have better navigation software, garmin I think. I like my D3 bc I hardly ever use navi and I got it mainly to look better in the cab, play movies for passengers, bluetooth and ipod functions.

Yes. Theirs are Garmin based. However, it isn't the navigation features that I'm seeking. I already have a Garmin nuvi which I'm very happy with and have no need for the nav features. It just happens to be my head unit of choice. I will be getting rid of my stock nav head unit which everyone knows is Pioneer based. It's a nice unit but since I'm not in need of its nav capabilities and keeping the truck "stock looking" isn't really my concern, I'll sell the system, snag the coin, and get what I want. Do you know anyone looking for a stock nav unit?

Post it for sale here in the for sale section and on eBay. I sold my factory nav unit and put in the avic-z2.

Thanks. They appear to be yielding about 700 to 800 dollars.

I don't have a custom EQ cheat sheet but mine was tuned by a audio shop and they did a pretty good job, I will try and snap some pictures tomorrow. BTW I am still running stock highs for now, I am stuck deciding what I want to run as far as components...
