Is this Normal Dr.?? (2008 F350 Navigation)

I just got a navigation Disc for my 2008 F350 KR.

Every time I start the truck it gives me a warning that some features areturned off during driving and asks me to "Agree" or "Decline" before the nav starts.

Is this normal? Is there a way to turn it off?

Thanks

This type of thing is normal on Nav units. It's to keep you from fiddling with it while you're driving. I don't know your specifics, but I'm sure if it sense you are moving, some things will be disabled (typing for instance), but if you're sitting still, it will allow it. I'm not sure who dictates that, but it sounds like something that either the Gov'ment, or the Insurance companies would insist on.

Along the same lines, I've heard there is an app you can put on your kids' phones that will keep them from texting when the phone is moving.

Ok thank you, but thats not the question I asked.

I understand the purpose of warning.

What I dont know is if on a stock Ford 2008 F350 Navigation system if having to accept the warning every time you turn the key is normal?

BTW when my kid is old enough to drive they wont need roads!
