Kenwood Nav DNX5140 V. rear camera issues

Nav unit was in truck when I got, works right.

I'm installing a back-up rear view camera. Simple 12v and ground at camera, rca to DNX5140.

Purple/white reverse sense wire.

Light green parking brake wire.

I have no idea where the reverse wire is.

I've tried all combinations of power or ground for those two wires, image never comes on. I'm selecting image/rear cam and it's coming up but the screen is blank.

I'm all ears.

5 hrs on this, pretty sure either the rca input for the rear cam is dead or the camera itself is dead.

That's a shame, it's acting up with my itouch too. Most of the time it says disconnected with no HU control of the ipod yet the sound plays and then 2min later it's on the screen and you can control it and hear it.

Pretty sure it's talking its way out of the truck.

You could try hooking up 12v to the reverse wire off the camera and if the rca wiring is good then it should turn on

The way my jvc seems to work is it monitors for input off the camera at all times. Then when the camera turns on and sends a signal it switches the monitor on. Just make sure that you have a good power and ground off your camera at the back of your truck.

I put power ground off the back of the truck from the hitch harness and then I did it inside the cab from the 12v lighter. Both sources where solid 12.7v key on. No image when cam was hooked up. The rear cam screen was showing on the kenwood but no image.

I did notice my RCA cable going to the back was very warm. The power wires where not. When I powered the cam inside the cab, I used another rca but same result, no image.
