rear view camera wire location by tailgate

my truck didn't come with a rear view camera, so was going to put one in. would the truck already have the wires for the camera to the tailgate? or do I have to wire it myself.. thanks for your help

I just did this setup and you need to run everything from scratch. There is a grommet under the pass side floor about 6 inches in from the kick panel that you can route the cable through the cab. You will also need to wire in a reverse wire if your using a nav unit.

Look at the rear of the truck, underneath, behind the tailgate, and see if you could find an unused orange colored plug. That is the harness for the camera, and my truck had it even though it was not equipped with a camera.

I have a job 3 Lariat and looked around under but didn't see an orange plug. I have those backup sensors and followed that harness and saw no loose connections. I probably need to drop the spare and see if I am missing something.
