iphone charger hooked to upfitter switch?

just picked up an 08 f350.
not excited about having the charger cord come from the dash to the center console. I would rather put the phone on the center of the dash, or hardwired somewhere.

has anyone done this?

Just because I have a banner that states "Moderator"

I copied this from a different thread of mine. I think this is what you are referring to?

If you want to make this work, you buy the following parts:

Panavise 751072411 Panavise 751072411
Akron AP032-VSM Akron AP032-VSM
(4 hole AMPS adapter mount)
Akron IPM515 Akron IPM515
(Slim-Grip Car Mount)

You can just pick up an auxillary 12v socket from an auto parts store, mount it under your dash and wire it to one of your upfitter switches. Just remember that the upfitters are only powered with the key on.

I mounted one of these under my seat for back seat 12v access:

2005 F-250 CC/SB 4x4 medium wedgewood blue

5" lift, 5" Donahoe rear springs, 35x13.50 Extreme A/T's, 18x10 Ultra Predator wheels, 4.30 gears, Banks 4" exhaust, Airraid intake, SCT from Innovative, ARP headstuds, Bulletproof ficm, Scangauge II, Randy Ellis Design lightbar, Street Scene flares, Harpoon mod, Zoodad mod, LED 2010 taillights, dual color LED front turn signals, Pioneer avic-D3 with ipod and backup cams

Or just wire it to a relay off the ignition switch circuit instead of wasting a upfitter
