Speaker Trouble

Recently I have noticed that my sub has been cutting out and i will lose all base and all the sound will jump to the front speakers. I checked the wiring into the stock sub unit and it all seems fine. Does anyone have any idea what could cause it to just cut off while driving?

Is it going into protect mode? You could be overheating it or it could have a bad ground
