Steering wheel radio control problem

I'm sending the truck in next week for an issue with the radio controls on the steering wheel but I wanted to check with the folks here to see if anyone else is having problems. My problem is that when I push the volume up button it will increase the volume for a sec and then change to the next preset station on the radio. It doesn't almost every time I try and increase the volume and it bugs the hell out of me.

I'll let you know what Ford says but I wasn't sure if this is a common problem.

Thanks,
Gerry

I got the pac-swi (I think this was the model, I can verify) interface. It connects in to wires behind the stereo, has some basic programming instructions, then plugs into the avic-z2. Once done all the controls work great.

I also have the Avic-Z2 with the steering wheel buttons functioning correctly. Only thing I wish is instead of the blank button next to the Media button that it was a usable button that I could tie into the Voice Prompt function of the Avic. It would make it so much easier to activate the voice prompt then reaching out and touching the screen.

Our 07 Expedition has a similar problem and has recently started muting itself. I've got to take it in for a door handle recall so I 'm going to get them to check the steering wheel control problem then.
