What is the 2nd plug of factory radio for?

ok, so I'm replacing my factory 6 disc with a pioneer d3. I got the wiring kit from crutchfield which only ties in the primary plug for speakers power etc. What is the 2nd factory plug that came out of the factory radio for? Do I need to tie into it for anything? Thanks.

I just peformed the same thing and that is an excellent question. Maybe for the Sirius module? However, I do have an external DVD system for the rear seaters. It's probably for that part of the system. I have no messed around to see if it works again yet.

When you moved to an aftermarket unit, did the wheels buttons retain their function?
