I swapped out my factory non-nav stereo for a factory nav unit today, everything work

Any tips? My phone syncs up with the Bluetooth fine for calling, but I can't play music even with the aux cable connected. Anybody run into this issue?

I believe the AUX-IN is a configurable option in the module configuration.

Did the truck you took the head unit out of have AUX-IN? Or possibly it had SYNC and your truck doesnt?

They both had sync, the only difference was the GPS

I had a talk with the local dealer and he told me the nav wouldn't work without some sort of $1000 adapter. Sounds fishy.

Doesn't make sense to me. Both had sync, sat radio, etc (both from lariat's).

I just put the old unit back in so I can use my Bluetooth until I can figure this out.

Wait a minute, I mis-read the problem.

So you have your phone either bluetoothed to your truck, or connected via a USB cable but it won't play music through the head unit, but everything else works?

I seem to remember this being a problem and it was a software compatibility issue between the trucks and the phones. Perhaps the software version on your head unit is not matching up with your phone or your sync module.

Do you still have access to the other truck, or did you get the radio from an auto wrecker?

And if your non-nav radio is a 6-disc, let me know if you're looking to part with it, I'm looking to upgrade but not to the level you did LOL

I have a 2010 with the factory nav/sync/dvd and it has an external amp that drives the speakers. It's located above the e-brake mechanism under the dash. I'm not sure your non nav unit had an amp. Might be worth a look.

Sounds like you need to get in touch with Steve redmyer. He's the man when it comes to these factory nav units. I'm waiting for a package from him now to install factory nav with sync and all in my 08 f250.
