Factory Nav unit in system fault/ mode

Well I happened to find a set of factory 20's on eBay with just about brand new good year wrangler ats tires. I drove the 2 hours to get them and the guy also had a factory navigation unit from his 09 f250 that was total loss(rear ended). He gave me the wheels, tires and Nav unit for $1400. So is the Nav unit able to be fixed? It says contact your ford dealer on the screen. I would need the get a factory GPS antenna to install. Also what would I be able to sell my factory 08 18 inch wheels for without tires?

I know GM's are vin locked units to prevent theft. If this is the case then you have to have the unit vin matched to your vehicle.

You MAY be able to make it work, I know a few guys here were able to take their 08 radios out and install 2009+ Sync Nav systems, may be possible with some work and some reprogramming from Ford....

I don't mind doing any work with wiring or anything. I don't really care to much for the sync or anything unless I need to have it in order for the unit to work. But don't get me wrong if its not gonna take forever ill hook up the sync and all. I would just need a list of parts and where to get them. Thanks erik
