Kenwood ddx419

I have currently in my truck a kenwood excelleron (something like that)
It is a dvd ipod 6.1 screen. Does anyone have the ddx419 ? If so do you like it?
Also do you think i will need to buy the wire harness or can i use the existing one along with the install kit . And one last question, my truck did not come with sterring wheel controls do you think i can by the ford sterring wheel control and wire it in to the new after market stereo if i buy the adapter kit to wire in stereo controls ? The reason why i am replacing it is because the direct connect ipod connection broke , the dvd motor is stuck and the touch screen is out of sync
