Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS In-Dash 7" LCD
I ordered this unit for my truck, read some good reviews on it and I wanted to upgrade from the stock radio. I also ordered with it an install kit, a steering wheel control harness, antenna adapter, and a wiring harness, the unit comes with a free back up camera. I have installed some radios and speakers before, but this one is a bit more in depth. I have a few concerns:
1. I dont know how to get the dash piece off, and I'm scared Ill break it, 2. I'm not sure how the radio comes out, 3. I dont know if the wire with the camera will be long enough for my truck, 4. I have done plenty of electrical work, but most is on lights and stuff like that. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/St...500BHS_reg.jpg |

I got on Crutchfield.com and when I typed in what unit I ordered and my vehicle it pulled up everything I needed to install it. It came in today but I wasnt here to pick it up, so I have to get it tomorrow. If no one else has said anything before then Ill tell you what all it took and what exactly it consisted of tomorrow after I install it. Thanks for the link.

You will need the wiring harness for your truck that connects to the new radio, will need the antenna adapter, and the steering wheel control harness, but I didnt get around to instaling that tonight. It took me a while to get it hooked up and into the dash. I also have a reverse camera to go with it, but I just ran the wires through the dash and tied them up for the time being. Im not exactly sure how it all wires up. It is a good bit more in depth than I originally thought, but it is in and working.

![]() Here it is all layed out out of the box. ![]() Here are the three connections that hook up to your factory radio. ![]() Here is the back of the unit, you can see the harness coming out of the radio and the harness you have to buy to connect to your truck. ![]() Its finally in the truck. I didnt finish completely though I have to finish up the camera and the steering wheel controls. |
