Aftermarket nav/radio question
Ok so I have looked around and have not found anything on this forum. I have a 09 f250x fx 4 without sync. Just the plain Jane 6CD radio. I am looking to change it out to a touch screen with nav. I have . Looked at the factory ones however it appears I will spend a lot more doing this than going aftermarket and buying all the adapters to make the starting wheel controls work. I am not looking for anything extravagant however I would like a good reputable name brand. Please help guide me towards a good unit. There are a lot of choices out there and I don't completely know what to look for however I am not looking to spend a grand on this thing.
Thing I would like Navigation Bluetooth Rear camera hookup DVD USB port Thank you for all the help in advance. Ask what you need to help guide me. Last edited by Oguck; 02-11-2013 at 05:54 AM. |

I've heard good things about the Kenwood Excelon series. I too am loking to upgrade eventually. I personally think you would get more features out of an aftermarket unit anyway.

Thanks for the input so far guys. I know Kenwood is a good brand so I will look at them. I'm trying to get under $500 so this will be fun. Keep the ideas comin.

I installed the Kenwood nt-700. What an improvment over the stock nav unit, both in terms of nav functionality and especially the sound, This thing rocks
Sold the stock unit for $500.00, so i recovered a lot of my cost. |

I had the Kenwood DNX 9960 (until it was stolen) but I never liked the touch screen, you really had to press pretty hard and there was a delay, nothing like a smart phone as I was expecting considering it was at the time the top of the line model. Maby I expected too much on that that front, other than that I loved the Garmin GPS (the only way to go) and all the other audio features, never used most of the features though.

thanks for the replies. The research I am doing shows JVC or pioneer to be the ones able to fit my budget. Does anyone know an internet site that sells these cheeper than others, or i would even be interested in tested/used ones.
