I thought about disabling it too at one time, but I do wear my seatbelt and sometimes forget. So while I know it's aggervating, it just makes me want to put it on even more.

I don't know why I wear it though. I was in a roll over and the seatbelt came undone. If my wife didn't stop me I would have went out the damn window. Had bruises on my waist and chest for about three weeks after. Of coarse I was in a 2002 Ford Sport Trac with Belt Minder.

Just thankful to walk away and live another day.

You sould wear your seatbelt. It could save your life in most cases, or I could kill you in few cases.

The chime starts going nuts even in park. i always do wear the belt, but sometimes, if you are parked, and with it running and just doing papework or are on the phone, it will keep chiming. Would never bother me if the car/truck was in drive, just hate it in park.
my .02 cents

melmount's idea is what I would do but I think you might have to put a jumper wire in there. Depends on what kind of switch is inside the buckles. If it is normally open, then you would have to put in a jumper. Normally closed, no jumper.

I used the above procedure and it works perfect. I wear my seatbelt 99% of the time but we have a feeder road that connects my work parking lot to a gas station and small strip mall and never wear it going there. Also when going out to my property for ATV riding it's a good 4 miles of sand trails and you just can't wear the seatbelt as it's locked the second you hit the road and that stupid chime drives me nuts.

I thought of that too, but with todays smart airbags I didnt want to risk unplugging something to do with that since they have sensors in the seats now I believe.

And yes, even in park the BeltMinder will shime every 30 seconds to remind you.

If you follow the directions in the manual it works.

I always wear my on the open road, but at work the truck sits idling or I drive a lot in the fields offroad and then it became annoying.

There is a real simple solution, go to the dealer and get a seat belt extender (for fat people). I got one for my police unit and they didnt charge me for it.
I also always wear my seatbelt but if I am going to a call and am in the neighborhood I take it off for safety, or when I am typing reports in my car I take it off.
It is a female and male end, the male end plugs in and stays on the seat. When your ready you just plug your seatbelt into the other end.
