I hope someone can findout what Ford wants for the OEM system. You have to be carefull with these kits. If you get one with the CMS camera the quality sucks. I'm trying to piece together a kit that uses the better CCD camera and a mirror. Should still be under 200 bucks, but I'm sure Ford will want 500 or more. It may take me a few days, and I will probably need to sell about 10 of them to make it affordable. I'll keep trying.

I personally wouldn't buy any Pyle brand stuff, while the price is good quality is usually sub-par. I've delt with their car audio equipment before, and well.....you get what you pay for.

Second that...have had to work with Pyle that customers brought in when I used to install car stereos...would rather pay more money and get reliable equipment. (now, this is from opinions over 10 years ago)

Pat, when you are working on this set, would the mirrors still have the auto dim feature, I like the idea of this kit, but don't wanna lose the dimming feature on my mirror.

Okay guys...I apologize, I did get the part number but I left it on my desk at work. It is Ford's OEM parts. I do remember the ridiculous prices though....

(will post part # tomorrow)
tailgate rear handle (for back up camera) $107.00 (plus tax)
camera $337.00 (plus tax)
rear view mirror with 3x4 (?) monitor $761.00 (plus tax)

If you buy the rear tailgate handle you have to buy the camera for a perfect fit. I wouldn't (hell no) buy the rear view for a monitor with 3x4 inches view. For that price I rather get a head unit such as Pioneer, Alpine, Eclipse, etc. and you get a 7 or 8 inch monitor, navigation, dvd, and more. Thanks

I kinda thought Ford was going to come up with something crazy. I'm actually putting in a Power Acoustic head unit with a 3.6" screen. It looks like the Motorola Razor phone, and Im adding a camera to it.

Power Acoustik has a couple mirrors. I'll keep looking into this. If anyone finds something they like from anyone let me know. I'll see what I can do.

All of my new stereo should be here by tomorrow. I hope to get it all in before NC!

I was in the audio business in the past...............Power Acoustic is another sub-par brand. I never really had any problems with their amps, but the head units and speakers came back with problems on a regular basis. This was about 5-7 years ago, possibly things have changed. Let me know how that system works out for you.

Anybody know anything about the Visor View stuff? It seems like a good idea but I have no idea about the quality. One camera on the license plate bracket of the truck, one camera on the license plate bracket for the trailer. The screen replaces your vanity mirror in your visor and you can switch between the cameras. When you don't need it you just flip the visor up.

That looks pretty nice, and cheaper than Fords option.

Our supplier said the same thing about Power Acoustiks. I guess things have improved greatly. I guess we will wait and see.
