Ford Factory Remote Start

Hello, I probably will sound dumb but one day I locked my truck and walked away. Unknowingly in my pocket, i must of pushed some of the key fob buttons and my truck started. I have the original stock key fob, 3 button, lock, unlock, panic. No aftermarket security lights, completely stock alarm. I dont know how i did it. I put my key in the truck and turn it off and it wouldnt turn off. So i cycled the key, finally shutting it off. How does ford usually set the buttons on the key fob for the remote start like starting and shutting off? I have a 08 F250 6.4 FX4. Thanks guys!

that's strange. I have a factory remote start on my 2010 and there's a separate fob with 1 button that you hold down for 2 seconds to activate the remote start.

Sounds like you may have an aftermarket add on remote start only. They can be setup on the factroy key fob usually by hitting lock-unlock-lock. You can try that and see if it works. If it is factory I'm not sure but you can try the same sequence. Hope that helps...

Thanks for your help guys, It is a stock remote start. You have to hit the fob once to lock it, twice quickly to remote start. It will beep twice indicating it received the transmission, and 12-15 seconds later, will fire up. Lock button shuts it down, also stepping on the brake before the key is in the ignition will do it. That easy, yes, im a bit slow lol

I assume its a ford option you an buy at the dealer and they can wire it in and program it to your same fob you own now. So no aftermarket crap... Call and ask a dealer to see cost and installation. I think i seen on tascaparts.com it was $225.00 without installation

for that much plus install might as well buy aftermarket. my buddy got a nice one put on his 6.4 for 500, i just dont like the aftermarket fob and the stupid bird chirp when u lock it like its some ricer off the fast and furious

I'm sure the option is on all of our trucks. The dealer just wants to suck more money us to splice in some wire. If anyone finds out what wires it is or the button sequence on the key fob, feel free to share!

i called a few weeks ago about getting factory remote start put in and they said like 4-500 and it was in the tuning so i had to put my truck back to stock. grrrrr

I hate the aftermarket stuff, too many issues, rather spend the money for a ford product and a dealer can service if needed
