Things not working

I'm new to forums (as far as posting) I read a ton of them but have never posted until now so here goes....


I have a few items in my 08 F250 Lariat CCSB I think they may be related but would like some of y'alls opinions and BTW I have checked ALL fusses a few times:

1 The reverse sensor "OFF" light stays lit at all times. I have checked sensors by listening for clicking noises as i get close and far and all four sensors work!

2 The telescoping feature doesn't work on my mirrors

3 The four wheel drive doesn't engage... Light comes on but not actually engaging

4 The power seat memory buttons do not work

I have taken the switches apart to ensure there was no corrosion on the boards or any debris keeping them from working properly but they all looked brand new!

I just bought the truck a few months ago and I'm still learning about it as time goes so I may be adding to this list... The truck was (what I was told) a fleet truck. If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them! BTW this is also my first diesel truck!

For the 4x4, check that the vacuum lines are hooked up. Someone else had that problem and their lines came disconnected. Not sure 100% where they are located but might be a place to start.

Most "fleets" don't buy Lariat package trucks (or short beds for that matter). So that would make me skeptical. The 4x4 not engaging is a fairly common issue, usually caused by either the vacuum pump not working (located on top of the under hood fuse box, driver side close to the firewall), or one of its vacuum lines being broken/ disconnected ( most common area for vacuum line disconnection if right in front of the coolant degas bottle). The other stuff you said wasn't working are Lariat specific options. I wonder if the computer has been replaced with one from an XL truck that doesn't have those options (most of the trucks runs off a CAN bus system, so the computer knows and controls almost everything)

OK just in case any one really wanna know I finally took it to the stealership! The problem ended up being an open circuit in the driverside door causing 90% of the problems... The back sensor wasn't working cause I need a new speaker for the box... and a new problem that finally lead me to take it to the stealership was the abs light coming on and off and brakes giving out.... was the passenger side abs sensor! I had them fix the open circuit and I fixed the vacuum line for the four wheel drive and eventually I will replace the speaker I have read some fixes on this amazing forum!

glad you got it fixed. My abs light pops on every now and then but only for a second or two max then goes away had that problem since day one.
