Upfitter Switches

Just got done installing switches on my 2008 F350. Do the switches light up when turned on? I currently don't have any accessories hooked to switches. I
Think my ground is good. I used a test light to the end of harness where it plugs into the switches and I am showing power to it.

Thanks

Joe

Yes, the switch's light will illuminate when it is in the on position regardless of it there's an accessory or not.

With the truck in RUN they should light up, I'm not sure about ACC because I don't have my truck right now. Make sure you connected the switches as follows:

I went back out and changed ground location and still no led at the end of the
Switch. I have power there because when I turn the lights on the aux1 thru 4
Glow in green when headlights are on. I hope that the switch isnít bad. I think I'm done for the night. Hope I have better luck tomorrow.

Am I missing something here I still have know leds at the end of the switches lighting up.
I have changed ground locations, checked on board fuses for all switches, all are good. Are there any other wires I'm missing? I Have relay box going to gray harness plugged in to back of switches plugged in then to ground. The 4 loose wires coming off relay box are where the hook ups are each switch. Is that correct?

This is becoming a nightmare. I have check and also have power in the relay box. Are the 4 wires (yellow, green/brown, violet/green, brown) suppose to be hot when uppfitter switch is on, or all the time. At this point fuses are all good, power in the relay box, power at the back of switch, but no power at the ends of the wires coming out of relay box. My test light stays hot at the green wire going into the switch with or without the relay ground. Any suggestions!! I'm running out of things to test. Not sure why there is know power at the wires coming from relay.

Thanks

Joe

Test lights suck. Get a voltmeter, even a cheap one will work way better. Make sure all your connections are good and your ground is BARE chassis metal. There really isn't much to the system, but maybe you do have a bad upfitter set. Where did you get it?

Well I finally have the switches working. Everything I checked kept going back to a bad switch. I ended up taking switches apart and found that the toggle was not moving the switches on the circuit board. So ether quality control
Missed this or someone else was in this switch. Power was always their. Who would have thought? On to the next project which will be installing led accent lighting in the interior.

Thanks

Joe
