Upfitter Switches Problem

Well I got under the dash and found the 4 wires that connect to the upfitter switches. I installed a couple of accessories and I cant get power to them when i flip the switches. Owners manual says see a Ford represenative...I dont want to leave the truck at a dealership for 2 days so they can hook up a couple of accessories. Am I missing something with these switches? I need power!

Upfitter Switched

On 2008 there are two fuse panels. One under front passenger kick panel, and one under the hood on drivers side. Mine was missing the fuse under the hood.

Thanks for the reply. I checked the fuses and they are all there. Has anybody hooked up their switches?

Make sure the relays are in there. They should be right above the wires you hooked up. I had no problems with ours. Have you tried using a test light to make sure the wires are hot when the upfitter switch is on. Also, they only work when the key is in the run position.

Mine were hot from factory on my 07...were they there, or did you add them after the fact? And like said above, they only work with ignition on.

Good luck!

How do you ID the wires for the switches? I want to use them but I can't find the wires and the manual tells you to see the dealer. What is the point of the switches if I have to pay the dealer? Any help would be great!

If the 08s are like my 07...they are behind the fuse block under the steering column. Mine were four orange wires, 2 bigger then the others. One all orange, the other three with color tracers. I can look up the exact colors and get back to you.

Oh yeah, its a pain, but easier to get to them if you drop the box. Now, this is for an 07, no clue honestly if they are located same spot.

The wires are labeled and color coded. Look in the owners manual for which color goes to what switch. Look near the parking brake.

In the 08s the wires are on the left side of the steering column ,You have to take the panel off to grt to them. There are also four wires that go through the dash, if you want them hook to th e upfitter switches, they have to be spliced together . They are color coded, and it is in the owners manual.
