Do you already have a head unit or are you going to tap off of the stock one?

got a local stereo shop near you? They should be able to easily set you up with a basic system for way less than $400

I read somewhere that some lariat stereos already have RCA out connections. You may want to see if you head unit already has them. I'm big into car audio and have had lots of brands. Pioneer is best for tight budjet. MTX is also a great brand but a little more expensive. Kicker will be your best option for space saving. They make a series of shallow subs that can fit under seats and such. Your amp is important too. Pioneer agian makes a good budget amp. But MTX and Rockford Fosgate really put out for their price and size.

Amp, sub(s) and box? I doubt that... Well, maybe if you go the BOSS route...
