2008 Superduty Remote Start

Has anybody tried to install the Ford remote start system on there diesel yet? I asked the local dealer to install it before I picked up my truck and they said it was to complicated, which gave me a bad feeling about having them do anything on my truck.

I was looking at Ford part number 7W3Z-19G364-AA.

Thanks.

Had one installed on my 2004 at Best Buy with an alarm. It has a 20 sec. delay to allow the glow plugs to heat up...You could set the delay as you needed.

Have a full viper alarm with remote start on my 06 that was installed by a local shop took em all day...lol

Was $650 total for parts and labor...

Thinking about bringing it back to get the window roll up module added so I can set the alarm and it will close all the windows for me...

They were running a free install program at the time. As I recall it was around 400.00

I had mine installed at the dealership for about $400 on my 08, is was the full blown alarm and remote start. I also installed the factory alarm and remote start on my 06 F-150 but it was alot of wires and wouldnt do it again, but I do know it is possible.

Thanks for the information, I am going to try to find another dealer in the area that seems a little more comfortable doing this project.

They have tried to install a Ford unit on my 08 F-350 and the truck has been in the shop for 4 different days and still no go. I paid for the unit when I bought the truck 4 months ago. They always claim that a new part is needed, will go back for the fifth time next week.

pierre3737, can you please post how trip number 5 goes next week? I was hoping to use the Ford system, but sounds like I might be better off to go with another brand.

I got to go back today as my doors don't lock electrically anymore, I guess they screwed around with some of the programming.
