2008+ Power folding mirror RELAY - Info/help needed!

My truck is actually an '05, but I figured since there is no generic electrical section, I figured I'd post it here. I'm wiring in the 08-11 power fold/tele mirrors in my truck and need the relay to make the power fold feature work with the factory '08+ mirror switch.

The factory part number listed is 8C3Z-14N089-A.

My dealer wants $100+ for it and the cheapest I've found is like $75 elsewhere. That being said, I'm looking for better options.

I'm curious if most 12V 5 pin relays (physically the identical as the one pictured) are basically the same... I understand that there are different amperage relays, but are the internals in this Ford relay doing anything special that a Dorman/Bosch relay isn't going to do?

One example I've found is this:

Santech/5 pin universal double pole single throw relay (MT0320) | Relay and Resistors | AutoZone.com

It is labeled "5 pin universal double pole single throw relay". Sounds like it'd work; but again, I'm no relay expert.

Can someone shed some light on this subject for me?

I just can't see spending $75+ on a FORD relay if it isn't doing anything different than a standard off the shelf one would.

Should work fine. Where does the factory relay plug in? I'll go out and look at the one in my 08...

Unfortunately, I've not found any information on the location. On the F150 models with power fold mirrors, the relay is actually located behind the back seats on the drivers side; against the rear wall/corner.

After doing some checking this morning, I picked up a standard SPDT 5 pin relay. After talking to the local electronics supply guys, they're not convinced it'll work. Basically, the std. relay has no way to reverse polarity. Because the factory switch one has one + lead coming from it to trigger the folding, I need a way to reverse the polarity with every press/throw of the switch.

Yeah, I saw that, and found mine under the dash. It is not even close to being a standard 5 pin relay...

Can you snap a pic of it? How about a part number? Since I don't have access to an 08+ truck right now, ANY help would be GREAT so I make sure I order the correct stuff.

Even just a pic of what it is would be excellent.

Did you ever get a chance to get that info on the power fold relay?
