Quick question for you guys!

Hey guys I'm looking to buy a factory 6 disc for my 08 powerstroke. Just curious if anybody is wanting to get rid of one laying around...or you guys think I would be better off buying an aftermarket one? I don't want to spend a fortune. I figured you guys would be able to help me out with opinions you always do! Thanks guys! Pm me if you have one!

I'd look in the aftermarket. You can get double dins for cheap in the aftermarket. Ford OEM stuff is stupid expensive unless you buy it used or get it from a truck at the wreckers that's being salvaged. There's really nothing special about the OEM unit either.

I believe that in-dash 6 CD changers are for OEM vehicles. If you want a CD changer, you usually have to buy a separate unit that mounts elsewhere in the vehicle. Personally, CD changers are passe. They aren't needed anymore because of all the different media types. You can fit thousands of songs on a CD when they're in an MP3/WMA format. You can also hook up an iPod with tens of thousands of songs, etc. I don't think you can go wrong with a head unit from Alpine, Kenwood or Pioneer. They're high-end stuff is really nice but pretty expensive. They do have some cheaper models within their brand though. JVC has some nice head units that are affordable. If you're going to upgrade to a double din head unit, you might as well add one that is compatible with navigation for future consideration.
