I don't know if its plug and play, mine was done at the dealer years ago. PLEASE go with unit that has camera and bluetooth, if not put the pioneer unit with NAV in.

I did it when my truck was new. It had AM/FM CD. I had them put in the NAV unit with the multi CD changer, and I think it cost about 2K but this was in 07. I put a new Pioneer unit in my neighbors Avalanche with rear camera, DVD, NAV and Bluetooth for about 900. I'm still going to go that way in the future. Ford needs to make the Synch model fit 08 and up trucks.

If you want to change over to the factory Nav/sirius and you dont already have sirius, it is a bit of work since the sirius module is separate. Mine came with the 6 disc and sirius, then I bought a factory nav unit and I had to have it programmed to work in my truck. but other than that and mounting the gps it was plug and play. But I dont have sync and the fact that the nav unit locks out some features drove me nuts so I sold that unit and bought an alpine nav unit and I already had an alpine sirius module. I was able to mount the alpine sirius module in place of the stock one adn reuse the factory sirius ant on the roof. I was able to tap into the factory harness for power. For the alpine headunit I bought a wiring kit and lockout kit and steering wheel kit. This allowed me to use the factory aux in and retain my steering wheel controls. Also the nav unit can be accessed any time and video in motion is enabled. Once all these kits were soldered up to the alpines harness it was pretty much plug and play with not mods to my trucks wiring. so if I wanted to sell the truck and go back to my factory radio I could swap it in about 10 minutes.

Oh yeah the alpine nav has bluetooth so now all my calls come through the stereo
