Trailer Reverse 12V signal
I've never noticed or maybe I still don't know exactly how this works. Most of the time I'm hauling horse trailers, or any other trailer that has electric brakes.
I bought a boat with hydraulic trailer brakes and when you put it in reverse, as far as I can tell the 12v backup lamp signal goes to the solenoid and prevents the hydraulic brakes from locking up. Well, I don't have that 12V on my trailer plug at my bumper. Am I right about how that works? Is that fused? What else should I look at? 2008 F-250 CC SB |

I'm using the 7-pin connector. I've had my volt meter out and I checked voltage on all the pins. Everything works like it should, except the pin for the 12V reverse signal.

Same thing happened to me...blown fuse for no apparent reason. Glad you found it.
