want to replace stock speakers

Looking to replace my stock speakers with something that has a bit more clarity. Can I just replace the speakers ? I remember reading about a stock amp somewhere up under the dash, an insight on this?..

If your truck is a 2008 (like your sig suggests) and you have the 2008 factory radio (nav or not) then the amplifier is built into the head unit. If your truck is 09 or newer and you have the nav system (or you have installed the newer nav) then the amplifier will be separate from the head unit.

I installed 6X8 infinity 2 ways. Sounds much better. Bought from best buy, $100 a pair.

yep, those are the ones i used. i ordered a pair of infinity`s from crutchfield last year and they threw them in free.

just a note: your not going to notice a real difference with the stock head unit. i even put a pair of JL tweets in the window covers in the front and it still didn`t make much difference except it was a little brighter sounding.
