How to remove Nav Radio?

Does anyone know what is required to pull the stock nav radio? I am considering switching to a Pioneer unit and cant find any information on what kind of puller might be needed.

Thanks!

You can get an install kit from almost any parts store or car audio store that will have the tool to pull the stock radio out. I know guys that have made there own tool out of a coat hanger.

Your radio has four little holes in each corner or on the side correct. Those holes have a locking mechanism inside them. You put a small metal rod in those holes and pull outward away from the radio and then pull the radio out towards you using the metal rods. Unless Ford changed the way the radios are mounted in the dash that is how it should be removed.

Just went out and looked. I dont see 4 holes but it does look like I'd have to remove the dash panel in the middle to get at it.

Anyone know how hard that is to do?

I haven't tried this yet but I was told you can remove the 2 triangular pieces at the bottom of the dash section (one side is cig lighter and pedal height and the other is the aux input) and below those are bolts holding the dash panel on.

In case anyone else was wondering
