Question vehicle speed sensor (VSS) info needed

My stereo installer is having a great deal of difficulty getting everything to work in my new truck. My Alpine navigation unit requires a VSS hookup to sense movement and the two wires that come from the sensor on the rearend don't seem to do the trick. Anyone know of anywhere else the truck has a VSS wire to tap into?

If so its the pink wire in the wiring harness.

Ended taping into the speed sensor in the harness for the windshield wipers under the hood. My local Ford dealer gave us the wiring schematic for the speed sensors.

I can't help with the steering wheel controls, we used a device from Pac audio to interface with my Alpine unit.

I believe the wire my installer used was in the harness going to the windshield wipers, i recall that it was yellow w/purple stripe.

The VSS wire should be Yellow with Blue stripe. It can be found in several locations, ABS Control Module, PCM, Windshield Wiper, and the 4x4 Contrlol Module if your truck is a 4x4. I think that this wire can be found in the large wiring harness behind the radio but it does not go to the radio. The 4x4 Control Module should located to the right of the glove box but I am not sure.
