09 Factory Stereo

I have the 6 disk MP3 4 speaker setup. I want to upgrade towards the audiofile system which from what I read is a 8 speaker with amp.

Where is the speakers located with the audiofile system?

Where is the amp located?

Is the factory wiring in place to plug and play?

Does the non audiofile head unit (mine) have the needed connections?

Thanks

The connections should be there ( I've been told Ford only makes one wire harness). As for the speakers if depends on which cab you have. The amp for the sub is in the sub box and the one for your head unit is inside. If your truck did not come with audiophile then your unit does not have the pin-outs for it so you would need a new head unit. Your unit has two plugs, audiophile unit has three.

Now allow me to aim you in a different direction. Why not just add an after market amp, sub and speakers to your factory head unit. You can do two or one amp install. One amp will run both but most people who want a really good sounding system have two amps, one for main speakers, one for the sub. After market sounds "WAY" better then the OEM. IMO the OEM sounds like junk, I should know I have/had one.
