OEM Backup Camera - Upfitter Switch

Has anyone figured out how to connect the oem backup camera to an upfitter switch so that it can be switched on whenever you want? I've been trying to figure it out, but don't want to start jumping wires and fry my camera.

Alright, this next comment may sound dumb. Did you run a jumper all the way from the tailgate or is there somewhere under the dash I can make the connection?

my truck did not have a camera for the factory, ran all wires down inside of the frame rail and into the cab.you should be able to trace in down from the harness or from the back of your screen with a test light

Not that easy

I dont think it is that easy, the display needs to be in that mode also , camera is controled by Nav unit if that is what you have. Try this link to Lock Pick. it can override the Camera function and make it work in any gear, coastaletech.com/synclockpick.htm I Have a 2009 F350 w/Nav and i want to find another camera i can attach to the Ford rear harness so i can mount it n my truck camper when the tailgate is off. Anybody have any ideas to attach a camera with yhis harness?
