Please help! Alarm disarm wire!!!

Hi Guys,

I have installed a remote start system (autostart 2 way) I have wired in my heated seats, elevated idle controller to the remote as well, but I am having a serious problem finding the OEM alarm disarm wire!

I have a 2009 (seems to have slightly different wiring than the 08? There were wires listed for this at the SJB, but I could not find them) and I have seen at least a few wires in diagrams, green/ purple and purple/ green both in the drivers kick. I have tried ALL of these wires in this location and have had no luck.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction!!! I hate having to carry both key fobs. Thanks in advance!

Peter.

Are you locking it with the keypad outside, or your remote? You can not use the door keypad with aftermarket alarms.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. It is a remote starter system that controls the OEM alarm, by using the supplied key fob. I still have use of the keypad, I just need to find out which wire I need to pulse to disarm the OEM alarm.

Green w/violet stripe is the wire you seek.

green/purple - Negative trigger

SJB, gray 26 pin plug (C), pin 8

The SJB (Smart Junction Box) is in the passenger kick. Meter this wire while turning the key in the driver door key cylinder.

Thanks guys! I will take another look, I did not see a wire of that desc. in the SJB connector but at least now I know how to measure it. Excellent info!

Forgot about this thread.....

2009 MY does NOT have the disarm wire (nor the key cylinder wire). You can only disarm the factory alarm by one of the following methods:

1) use of keyless entry keypad
2) insert a valid transponder key into the ignition
3) use the factory keyfob ( activates Remote access personality module)

If you have a remote start, and want to use the aftermarket keyfob to unlock while the truck is NOT running (it will unlock just fine if the remote start is running, the alarm has been disabled, explain next) you can do the following.

Diode isolate the disarm wire and connect it to the GWR wire (to activate the bypass module). Also connect the disarm wire to a relay to activate the vehicles ignition. This pulse to the ignition and bypass module will simulate a key going in the ignition. only side effect is the radio will stay on until a door opens, or it times out.

THIS IS THE ONLY KNOWN OPTION FOR THE 2009+ models.

Peter.

Great post Rotorfixer. My installer ran into the same thing with my 09 and a Viper system. When I first heard my radio on after unlocking my doors I thought he had wired something wrong. He assured me it was the only way to wire it. Guess he was right.
