Drive shaft ? And u-joint ?

How can u tell if ur ujoints are good and solid or if they are going out. The reason I ask is that I can slightly wiggle my front driveshaft up and down not side to side. Is this normal? How about the u joints on the front axle. Any guidelines on signs of wear?

My second question is the rubber hangar between the two rear driveshafts supposed to be able to be moved up and down? It seems like there is more play there than there used to be.

How hard is it to replace this part? Looks kinda hard.
